Patterned after Spode's famous Gloucester design c. 1790 this fine reproduction, originally made in blue and white, includes warm yellow accents. The Albany Cereal Bowl 8 inch can be used for display as well as for serving. Made in England of high-quality earthenware, Imperialware, Albany mixes beautifully on the table with Spode Blue Italian for a sophisticated mix and match look.The Albany line of fine china takes its inspiration from Spode's renowned eighteenth-century Gloucester pattern, updating the original's blue-and-white palette with a warm, buttery yellow ground. Sturdy enough for everyday use, this handsome tableware's sense of history and refinement also makes it eminently suited for formal occasions or for display. Deeper in profile and more casual in effect than the traditional rimmed soup bowl, this 8-inch cereal bowl finds plenty of uses past the breakfast table, holding everything from hearty soups and stews to ice cream and other desserts. It features a warm yellow center with delicate blue flowers, then an outer band of yellow with flowers and classical edging motifs, culminating in a narrow blue border near the rim.
